Ashley Jacobs Explains Why She Returned To Southern Charm

Ashley Jacobs made her infamous return to Southern Charm halfway through the season. By the end of it, she was thrown out of a party by Patricia Altschul — who she claims was the reason she came back to the show in the first place.

Ashley rubbed both the cast and its viewers the wrong way when she called Kathryn Dennis a bad mother and flirted with Thomas Ravenel’s friends while she was dating him. She earned the reputation of a golddigger and a mean girl.

Before the sixth season started to tape, Jacobs told her followers that she wasn’t going to be on the series anymore in a photo caption that read: ‘After a lot of prayerful consideration, I have decided not to return to Southern Charm next season. I’ve been blessed with an amazing career, family, & friends and I don’t want to put those things in jeopardy for a reality tv show. Honestly I considered filming again because I desperately want to tell my side of the story. But after experiencing how unfair the editing process can be, I don’t think I’ll ever have a fair shot.’

Paricia then put her own spin on the announcement by claiming ‘after prayerful consideration’ she turned down the Nobel Peace Price and cover of Sports Illustrated.

Ashley shared to her Instagram Story that after Altschul mocked her via Twitter, she decided to come back. She stands by her claim that Whitney Sudler’s mom is the one who turned her against Kathryn in the first place.

This goes against her past interview where she explained to Entertainment Tonight that she just wanted to make things right.

‘I did say some hurtful things. My No. 1 regret is saying those things to Kathryn. My regret is not keeping my mouth shut. My regret is letting my feelings get the best of me, and reacting without thinking. Sitting on those feelings. My regret is saying those things in front of a large group, not pulling her aside and talking to her, and explaining my feelings. I might have felt that way, but that wasn’t — that wasn’t the time or place. That wasn’t the way to do it.’
