Was head of West Coast A&R (Artists & Repertoire) for Decca Records (U.S.) in the 1960s; in this capacity (credited as Charles Bud Dant), he produced The Irish Rovers' 1968 hit "The Unicorn" (single #32254), served as executive producer of William Shatner's notorious 1968 album "The Transformed Man" (DL 75043, produced by Don Ralke), and was given "Produced for Records by" credit on many mid-to-late 1960s soundtrack albums issued on Decca.

He is known for his work on The Pay Off (1942), Submarine Base (1943) and The Lively Ones (1962). He was married to June Anne Stebbins.
