Chelsea are considering the possibility of signing USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams from Leeds United as they remain deadlocked in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion about Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo is Chelsea’s top midfield target, but they have so far been unwilling to meet Brighton’s £100million ($127m) valuation of the Ecuador international.

Their fourth offer, worth £80million, was rejected last week and they are determined to find an agreement on their terms rather than simply meeting the asking price.
The Athletic reported last month that Adams has a relegation release clause as part of his Leeds contract, which is thought to be in the region of £20million.

Fellow Premier League club Aston Villa also hold an interest in Adams as manager Unai Emery continues his squad rebuild.
Leeds finished 19th in the Premier League last season and were relegated from the top flight activating Adams’ release clause.
Adams has been one of Leeds’ most impressive performers since his move from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 and made 24 Premier League appearances last season.
He began his career with the New York Red Bulls before moving to RB Leipzig, where he made 103 appearances. He has 36 caps with the USMNT and captained his country at the World Cup in Qatar.
