Reggie N Bollie, may have came second to, Louisa Johnson, on X Factor last Sunday, but that doesn’t mean that they are second best.
As we all know the X Factor has a long history of runners up, and third placed contestants going on to become huge stars, sometimes even bigger than the winner, just look at, Olly Murs, Fleur East, One Direction, JLS and Cher Lloyd, none of these won but they have gone on to become massive stars, and in Ella Henderson’s case finishing sixth on the 2012 series, has not hampered her success, as she has gone on to sell millions of records.
And now it looks like reggae duo, Reggie N Bollie, are set to sign a record deal in the next few months.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the talented pair revealed that their management team are in talks with various labels saying: “Simon, right after the show, walked up to us and said, “Great job – well done. You guys have been amazing”. “We’re glad you came on this show and we know the future is going to be bright for you”
Continuing to speak about their chat with the music mogul the boys added: “He didn’t say anything about a record deal, but we know our management are talking to different labels. “At the moment there are really interesting conversations going on.”
The pair who were mentored by, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, revealed how the Geordie babe is keen to be a hands on mentor even though the show is now finished saying: “We spoke to Cheryl on Monday, she sent us a message telling us that she’s there for us,” “She wants to be part of our musical journey, and not just for The X Factor. So any time we need her, she wants to be full-on helping us.”
Cheryl, has already revealed that she hopes to sign Reggie N Bollie to her own label and wants to work with them on their debut album, speaking at the X Factor press conference before the final, the ‘I Don’t Care’ hitmaker said: “I’m working with them on their album whether they want me to or not. I’m deadly serious,” “Simon has offered me a label for years but this would be a good act to start with “I think Simon and I need to sit down and have some serious conversations about it.”
Lets hope the boys get signed soon, so that we can get their upbeat music straight on our I-pods.
